The Pentagon’s #2 official, Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England, wanted convictions of Guantanamo detainees including 9/11 plotter Khalid Sheikh Mohammed timed to the 2006 midterm elections. That’s according to former Gitmo chief prosecutor Morris Davis.
