- How come most of the high-profile busts of home-grown terrorists, whether in Miami or New York, seem to involve less-than-intelligent dupes entrapped by police informants?
- Jeb Bush has been using his nonprofit foundation to run his political machine, paying a pollster and a former campaign finance director. Wonder if the Weekly Standard’s Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol have been making any donations? (Kristol gave Jeb $500 during the 2002 gubernatorial race.)
- Iran’s new Foreign Policy Council could curb some of president Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s power and provide a back channel for U.S. and European diplomats.
- Commanders in Iraq claim to have uncovered 500 munitions that meet the criteria for weapons of mass destruction. “These are chemical weapons as defined under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and yes … they do constitute weapons of mass destruction,” Army Col. John Chu told the House Armed Services Committee.
- The Pentagon may be under fire for not constructing wind farms in the Midwest but they seem committed to using the renewable energy source elsewhere. A family friend just headed down to Guantanamo to work on the windmills that help power the military base down there.
