What’s In a Name? Dems’ Response
To “Cut-N-Run”: The Three C Words
As the Democrats anguish over how to respond to Republican accusations that their Iraq policy is to “cut and run,” they just might want to hit back with their own quick sound bite.
It turns out that they already have one. Last October, Air America founder Anita Drobny trademarked “The Three C Words: Competence, Corruption and Cronyism” to tar and feather the Republican party - and promote the interests of Democrats - in the 2008 political campaign.
I don’t know - it’s not catchy enough (what were they thinking? At least 3 syllables per word? That’s just too complicated - “cut-n-run” is three one-syllable words). Typical bonehead move by the Democrats who are rapidly getting outflanked by the GOP, even while bodies keep piling up in Iraq.

I’m of the mind that the dems should embrace cut and run as their own slogan. Cut spending (iraq war, pork and no-bid contracts) and run a real government (an operating effective FEMA, for example, a government that responds to the people).
cut n’ run dems. has a nice ring to it. catchy!

I prefer my characterization of the GOP: “Fear, queer, and smear.”

Lets face it, it is indeed and in fact CUT & RUN. And there is no way to obfuscate that.
Also the general public, real working people distressed by the Iraq situation but not obsessed with hatred of Bush & Chaney, clearly see the totally confused and divided Democrat’s doing cut and run. They see the awful consequences of cut and run for Iraquis and others, and are not going to be convinced that its not cut and run by any clever wordsmithing Democrats.
I wish the Democrats could face up to this and devise a better policy.
