Today we launch a new feature in which we’ll take a look inside the most recent filings of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Sounds pretty dry until you realize what secrets lie within its files: long before a movie opens, a magazine launches, or a new soft drink debuts, its manufacturer trademarks a name for it.

Here’s one of the latest - Calvin Klein recently trademarked  the term technosexual, which apparently means “a person with a strong aesthetic sense for fashion and a love of technology” and not a horny robot, as we assumed.

So, you can soon look forward to Technosexual cologne, body wash, scrubs, deodorants, body wash, bubble bath, etc. (Quick! Metrosexual is still available - a Long-Island-based company abandoned the trademark in 2004):
