Drug Industry Wrote Vaccine Provision
Which Granted It Near-Total Immunity

The White House and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) conspired with drug industry lobbyists last December to craft a sweeping liability provision that grants vaccine manufacturers near-total immunity for injuries or death, even in cases of gross negligence or gross recklessness, according to a report issued today by Public Citizen.

The drug industry’s lobbying team included some influential players: three former Frist staffers and House Majority Leader Dennis Hastert’s son, Joshua Hastert.

Protest Planned To Oppose Weapons Testing in Nevada

On May 28, Native Americans and peace activists plan to protest the June 2 detonation of a 700-ton ammonium nitrate and fuel oil explosive at the Nevada Test Site, located about 65 miles north of Las Vegas. While not nuclear in composition, the test’s purpose is to “simulate a low-yield nuclear weapon.”
